Teen/Adult StarSkate
It's Never Too Late to Figure Skate!
*NEW PROGRAM for 2026/27*
What is Teen/Adult StarSkate?
Teen/Adult STARSkate is a group-coached program designed for older skaters who want to learn, improve, or continue their figure skating journey in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Ideal for skaters new to figure skating or returning to the sport after time away, this program follows the same STARSkate pathway as our youth programs while providing instruction tailored to older skaters.
Who's it for?
This program is for skaters 13 years of age or older who:
-
Have completed CanSkate or possess equivalent skating skills.
-
Want to learn figure skating skills, jumps, spins, dance, and skating technique.
-
Are looking to skate recreationally, for fitness, personal achievement, or competition.
What will you learn?
Skaters work through the STARSkate program and may develop:
-
Skating skills and edge quality
-
Jumps and jump combinations
-
Spins
-
Dance and artistic skating skills
-
Performance and presentation skills
Progression is individualized, allowing each skater to work toward their own goals at their own pace.
What can you expect?
Teen/Adult STARSkate skaters train as part of a group, receiving coaching in a supportive environment alongside other STARSkate athletes:
-
Sessions take place during our figure skating ice times, so skaters can expect to share the ice with athletes of many different ages.
-
Lessons are tailored to each skater's individual skill level and goals, from learning new skills to testing, performing, or competing.
-
Skaters can stay in Teen/Adult STARSkate group, or progress into the mainstream STARSkate program to pursue Skate Canada's testing stream or participate in competitions.
No matter when you start,
it's never too late to enjoy figure skating!
