PrePower - Fall 2026

For skating lessons from October to December 2026

Registration Dates:

Registration for the Fall season of CanSkate/PowerSkate and the full Fall/Winter season of Figure skating will open on the following dates:

Okotoks/Foothills County Residents: July 6, 2026

Public Registration: July 15, 2026

Out-of-Club StarSkate: August 1, 2026

All Fall/Winter programming will take place at the Okotoks Recreation Centre - Piper Arena and Scott Seaman Sports Rink in DeWinton.

Registration Deadlines:

CanSkate / Pre-CanSkate: October 18, 2026 (or until sessions are full)

PrePower / PowerSkate: October 18, 2026 (or until sessions are full)

StarSkate: January 31, 2027 (or until sessions are full).

OSC reserves the right to cancel or adjust sessions or pricing as deemed necessary by the OSC Board of Directors.

All withdrawals and cancellations are subject to the OSC Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Additional Fees

Skate Canada Membership Fee 2026-27 - $64

The Skate Canada Membership fee is due once per season and is mandatory for all on-ice participants. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

The current season dates are Sept 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027.

Payment is required before any participant may take to the ice. The fee is made up of a registrant fee to both the National office and Section office (Alberta-NWT/Nun), the Safe Sport fee and Injury Benefit Charge.

Multi-Participant Discount

Register 2 or more participants in the same season on the same invoice and receive $25 off the totalregistration. Qualifying registrations will see the discount applied at checkout.

Multi-Session Discount

Register your skater for 2 or more weekly sessions and receive the following discounts. Qualifying registrations will see the discount applied at checkout.

What's after PrePower?

Once a skater has completed a full season of PrePower and has reached the age of 6 years old, skaters can look to register for the PowerSkate JR program. Designed for skaters at the 2nd year Initiation (U7) to 1st year U11 hockey/ringette levels, this 45-minute full-ice, action-packed and high-energy power skating class focuses on skills, techniques and conditioning drills taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations.

Taught by specially trained NCCP Skate Canada coaches, with many years of experience including overseas training, this is an excellent supplementary program to refine and hone skating skills for life.

PowerSkate JR is offered three times per year (during our Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons) and runs as a morning class to complement hockey schedules.
