Parent & Tot Skate

Where our youngest athletes start their skating experience

What is Parent & Tot?

Who's it for?

Parent and Tot is for skaters aged 2 to 4, and a parent or adult is required for each participant.

Who teaches it?

NCCP-trained professional coaches are ready and excited to welcome both you and your skater on the ice!

What can you expect?

Skaters and parents will have fun on the ice together! Parents will support their skater in learning to fall, get up, and move forward.

What do we need to participate?

All skaters and adults must wear skates and a CSA-approved hockey helmet (please reference our Helmet Use Policy for more info). Clothing can include long pants, mittens, warm sweater or jacket.

What kind of skates?

What are the fees?

The registration fees for Parent & Tot will depend on how many sessions are provided in a season. Typically, Parent & Tot sessions are between 8 and 10 weeks (1 class per week) and session costs will be listed on the registration page.

Additional fees include the Skate Canada Membership fee, which must be paid for both the skater and the parent. Every skater and their parent must be a Skate Canada member and pay the mandatory fee once per season (September 1st to August 31st). This ensures liability insurance coverage for everyone on OSC ice.

When is Parent & Tot offered?

Pre-CanSkate is offered 2 times per year - Fall and Winter.

The Fall season begins at the end of September/beginning of October and ends in December.

The Winter season begins in January and ends in March.
