PrePowerSkate
Laying the Foundation for Future Power Skating Success
What is PrePower?
PrePower is an introductory power skating program integrated into our CanSkate classes. Power skating builds on already learned skills and PrePower combines learning the basics, establishing a strong foundation, and introducing basic power skating skills.
Who's it for?
Skaters must be 5 or older and be able to skate forward, backward, and stop. Since power skating builds on basic skills, prior basic skating experience is required. We encourage completing a full CanSkate session before joining PrePower.
Who teaches it?
NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants (trained members of our figure skating program).
What will you learn?
Skaters will enhance their basic skating skills and develop some basic foundational power skating techniques. This includes improving balance, developing better speed, agility, and control.
What can you expect?
PrePower participants will be incorporated into CanSkate and will rotate through the same circuits and activities. While this group will be introduced to basic power skating skills, the focus is on developing strong basic skills before working on building power and agility.
The expert in anything was once a beginner.

Additional Fees include the Skate Canada Membership fee. This once per season fee (Sept 1st to Aug 31st of the following year) is mandatory for each participant and covers each skater's liability insurance while on OSC ice. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
