The Okotoks Skating Club is THRILLED to announce a truly special seminar specifically for our club's StarSkate athletes!
We are honoured to welcome two-time Olympic Champion and four-time World Champion Ekaterina Gordeeva and World Professional Champion Violetta Afanasieva as our distinguished guest instructors.
World-Class Expertise
This seminar offers rare, direct access to world-class expertise and mentorship. Skaters will benefit from a focus on high-quality skating fundamentals, with a strong emphasis on performance excellence shaped by elite international experience.
Our special guests will share invaluable insights and techniques that set the standard at the highest levels of the sport.

Piper Arena – Okotoks Rec Centre
Pre-Junior & Junior Skaters
$40 per skater
Half Day Seminar | Approximately 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm **
Includes 2 on-ice sessions and 1 off-ice session
Intermediate & Senior Skaters
$80 per skater
Full Day Seminar | Approximately 9:00 am – 6:30 pm **
Includes 4-5 on-ice sessions and 2-3 off-ice sessions

What All Skaters Will Experience
Musical Exploration
Skaters will work with a wide range of musical accompaniment, encouraging them to explore different emotions and styles while strengthening edge quality and advanced skating skills.
Performance Development
Focused sessions on projection, storytelling, and audience engagement to help skaters elevate their performance ability.
Inspiration & Mentorship
Learn directly from champions who have competed and excelled on the international stage, gaining perspective and motivation to continue growing in your skating journey.
Off-Ice Activities
Interactive team-building and personal growth sessions facilitated by the Orenda Society.
Meet & Greet Experience
The day concludes with group photos, a Q&A session, and an autograph opportunity with Ekaterina and Violetta.
Additional Training for Intermediate & Senior Skaters
On-Ice Technical Training
Small group sessions focused on level-appropriate jumps, spins, and field moves.
Off-Ice Training
Dedicated instruction on proper warm-up, core strength, and presentation aesthetics.
